Managing Concerns About Falls

A Matter of Balance can help reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falling. Over 60 adults and free to public. Limited Seats. Older adults help manage falls. Classes start Wednesday April 5th, 2017 | 1pm-3pm. Once a week on Wednesday for eight (8) weeks. 

 

YOU WILL LEARN TO:

-view falls as controllable
-set goals for increasing activity
-make changes to reduce fall risks at home
-exercise to increase strength and balance

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

-anyone concerned about falls
-anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
-anyone who has fallen in the past
-anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

How it works.

A Matter of Balance was developed by Boston University and Maine Health. This program is designed for adults 60 and older. Classes are held once per week or twice per week for 8, two hour sessions. Each class is led by two volunteer coaches and consists of small interactive groups.
