Come to Our Party!

            LINC's                 20th Anniversary      1989-2009 

LINC will kick off our year-long 20th anniversary celebration on Thursday, February 5, 2009. The bash is hosted by the Greater Belleville Chamber of Commerce and will be held our Belleville office from 5-7pm.

Sponsorships for the event are available. Levels of support range from $100-$2,000 and includes promotion recognition of your business or agency for the entire year of 2009.

Stock Market Questions

& Concerns

 

 

Walt Westman from Edward Jones and a LINC volunteer will be presenting on the current situation of the stock market on Thursday, January 22, from 2-3pm. He will answer questions and concerns about the stock market and provide helpful hints on how to ride out the recent economic reccession.

This workshop will take place at the LINC office and is also available through Teleconference. Contact our office to register today.

 

Meet Mark Jodlowski

Mark Jodlowski recently joined the staff as our Deaf/Hard of Hearing Advocate. Mark replaced Libby Bernth who moved to the East Coast.

Mark is truly a Deaf Nebraskan Native. He worked with the Nebraska Commission for the Deaf/HOH in Omaha. Mark and his family relocated to St. Louis 9 years ago. He has 3 sons, 2 who are hard of hearing and one who is hearing.

SNL Skit 'Ridiculed' Physically Disabled

David Paterson has criticized an SNL skit that ran over the weekend, saying the show sought to ridicule people with physical disabilities.

2009 ADA Awards Nominations Sought

 

Each year LINC, Incorporated honors those in our community who have contributed greatly in supporting the Americans With Disabilities (ADA) Act in their personal and professional life.

A person, business or organization that is eligible for these awards has gone beyond the call of duty in their support of the ADA in one of 5 ways: Spirit of the ADA, Legislation/ Advocacy, Education, Personal Assistant, and Employer of the Year.

The ADA award nomination form can be found on our website at ADA Nomination Form. Nominations must be received by mail, fax or email by Thursday, January 15, 2009.
